What we are looking for :

As a Technical Project Manager, you will work with the project team to provide technical expertise during key parts of the deployment process.

You will be making sure design reviews are being conducted comprehensively along with providing technical support to customers on ESS requirements and other design requirements as needed by Stem for the application.

There are many different applications for ESS deployments that require a resourceful individual with a strong background in power electronics, controls, protection schemes, networking as well as typical utility generator requirements and their impact on operations.

As the Technical Project Manager you will be the technical resource assigned to a number of projects in coordination with the project managers.

Responsibilities :

  • Work with Project Management, Technical Sales, Engineering, Operations and Software Development to ensure complete and detailed engineering requirements are understood for every project.
  • Review customer electrical design sets to ensure compliance with ESS installation requirements and Stem operational requirements
  • Support the creation of Communication Drawings specific to each project, created by the drafting team
  • Create documentation to support lessons learned from customers installations to mitigate repeated mistakes
  • Effectively coordinate with the client and internal cross-functional resources while troubleshooting issues at the site
  • Coordinate internal resources developing accountability and clarity in scope and timeline for each stakeholder.
  • Be available to perform field visits to validate installations or help troubleshoot installations as the request of customers along with programming meters, relays, or other control devices and troubleshooting other site issues
  • Work with equipment suppliers for technical support and commissioning troubleshooting to expedite getting systems online
  • Attend periodic project meetings - internal and with customer.
  • Create checklists and other supporting documentation to streamline support
  • Work together with the commissioning engineering team and / or Remote Operations Centre to expedite provisioning the Stem hardware and get telemetry working at site.
  • Help to define and refine internal processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience successfully supporting energy projects, from pre-sales to Operations.
  • Experience working with Battery Energy Storage System suppliers
  • Experience in field commissioning of monitoring and control devices such as meters, relays, RTAC's, specifically SEL devices
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the power or renewable energy sector.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in project engineering, or field experience
  • Strong written, verbal, and customer account management skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions on programs to internal and external representatives.
  • Ability to understand and communicate both technical and business information.
  • Able to manage multiple projects / activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

This position can be based either our Boulder, CO or Austin, TX offices or can be Remote.

Salary range : $109,200 to $163,800 annually

This is a salaried exempt position, M-F, with additional weekend work as required.
