Job Description : As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with special needs.
You will collaborate with other educators and specialists to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, helping them achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction to students, adapting teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and IEP goals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect and empathy for all students.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid New York State teaching certification in Special Education.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Passion for working with students with special needs and promoting inclusivity.
