Engineering Laboratory Technician

An electric utility client is looking for a Laboratory Technician who will perform laboratory maintenance, lab testing, and analysis on several upcoming lab projects.

Location : Irwindale, CA 91702 ONSITE

Position : Laboratory Technician

Pay Rate : $25 / hr. on W2 (Depends on Experience)

Duration : 12 months or longer

Schedule : M-F, 8 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• The Lab Technician performs laboratory maintenance, and lab testing and analysis on several upcoming lab projects.
• The technician works on various types of customer side-of-meter equipment including advanced Air Conditioning equipment, and heat pump water heaters.

This is done using laboratory tools and equipment.

• The lab tools used may be hand-held manual or power tools, or machine tools.
• The lab equipment used may include large or complex equipment.

SOFT SKILLS :

Can communicate problems and results effectively to team members; can support team members when asked. Is confident enough to stop work and reach out to others when safety may become an issue.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Associate's Degree is required
• 3 to 5 years of experience preferred.
• Operating laboratory Test equipment, including instrumentation and sensors.
• Calibrates and performs inventory tracking on various types of lab tools and equipment.
• Set up and performs maintenance on various types of lab tools and lab testing equipment.
• Completing work safely; carefully documents the work performed; and keeps work area clean and neat.
• Clearly communicating the result of the lab testing analysis or any problems and discusses with the Senior Lab Technician and the Project Lead Engineer.
• Hands-on experience in operating laboratory test equipment and maintaining and calibrating lab test equipment.
• Lab experience can be in mechanical, chemical, biological or food processing labs.
• Experience preferred using instrumentation sensors and data acquisition systems.
• Also experience preferred with plumbing, mechanical refrigeration, air conditioning or other thermal systems.
• Lab experience will need to be validated / confirmed.
