Typical Day in the Role

Purpose of the Team : The Security organization accelerates our mission and bold ambitions to ensure that our company and industry is securing digital technology platforms, devices, and clouds in our customers heterogeneous environments, as well as ensuring the security of our own internal estate.

This is the UX research team that focuses on the MSFT security products.

• Key projects : This role will contribute to driving the development of robust processes and infrastructure to empower the UX Research team and their partner teams to better deliver on their current and future business deliverables.
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm : The role will consist of :
• Project Management : Approximately 40% of the time will be dedicated to managing a horizontal project, which includes tasks like email communications on status updates, setting up meetings, and outreach to stakeholders. 5 : 36
• Team Health : Around 30% of the time will be focused on team health, such as developing onboarding processes, celebrating milestones, responding to signal scores, and implementing improvement plans. 6 : 20
• Documentation of Best Practices : The remaining 30% will involve documenting best practices to ensure consistency in processes and reconciling any differences

Candidate Requirements

• Years of Experience Required : 1-3 overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required : Bachelor's degree is required to be eligible for this role.

• Best vs. Average : The ideal candidate :
• who has previously performed a similar role at another company would be considered a best candidate. This experience implies familiarity with tasks like streamlining recruiting efforts and knowledge management, which are crucial for the role.
• The ability to quickly adapt to new areas, especially in a complex domain like the security space, is highly valued. A strong understanding of technology and the ability to grasp new concepts swiftly are important.
• Performance Indicators : Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and meeting deadlines

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

1. Minimum 1-3 years experience with project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

2. Minimum 1-3 years experience with General awareness and knowledge of UX research approaches and methodologies

3. Minimum 1-3 years experience with General awareness and knowledge of B2B software and the Security space.

We are looking for a Contract UX Research Ops Program Manager to help drive the development of robust processes and infrastructure to empower the UX Research team and their partner teams to better deliver on their current and future business deliverables.

You will be the first UX Research Operations role on this team and will partner with the UX Design Operations PMs on our sister teams.

You will be joining a team of 15+ talented UX researchers whose charter is to design end-to-end experiences for all security admins that are useful, usable, and desirable.
