Job Description
Join our growing team as an Engineering Technician Level 3 in support of the FAA’s Surface Surveillance Team. The Surface Surveillance Team provides second level engineering support for the FAA’s Surface Radar systems.
Responsibilities :
- Compile planimetric and topographic features from (3D) stereo imagery
- Work with 3-D Stereo Vision
- Field survey of Ground Control Points
- Ensure geospatial data is accurate by using standardized quality control processes
- Verify all source materials, including map boundaries, survey control & stereo-pairs during project set-up
- Assist the production team in achieving technical quality standards while meeting production schedules and budgets
- Assist on innovative ideas for Geospatial tasks to improve production performance
- Maintaining currency in state-of-the-art Geospatial hardware and software
- Meet day to day schedule and budget compliance
- Maintain up-to-date status reporting and tracking on all projects
Requirements
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years .
- Experience in stereo compilation desired
- Aerial Image interpretation and vector map production desired
- Troubleshooting and solving technical issues
- High level of attention to detail
- Familiarity with Leica Infinity software, ERDAS Imagine, SOCET Set PRO 600, MicroStation, AutoCAD, TopoFlight, Google Earth Pro or ImageStation Raster Utilities a plus
- Experience with Leica GS18 Survey Equipment a plus
- Normal color and 3-D Stereo vision while working in a low light environment
- Ability to learn new software and processes quickly
- Ability to focus on maximizing production efficiency while maintaining quality standards
- Field Survey of ground control points is a plus
- Associates Degree is a plus
Education / Experience :
Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, geomatics, cartography, geography, surveying or similar curriculum required;
OR a certificate of training in a 2 year EET program from a community college, vocational education school, military training or FAA academy may be substituted in lieu of the associate
- At least 8 years of related industry experience
- Knowledge of Computers, graphics cards and 3D imaging
