The Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Emergency Services is a designated Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, regional Pediatric Trauma Center, Eye Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Cardiac Center for the state of Maryland.
The Adult Emergency Department provides 24 / 7 comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients as well as trauma patients 15 years and older.
The department consists of 76 treatment beds and handles more than 60,000 visits annually.
A series of specialized orientation classes are incorporated into your orientation period to facilitate your transition into the care environment.
All new hires will receive support from dedicated orientation facilitators and a nurse educator.
Shifts : Nights
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is required
- 1 year of acute care (in-hospital) tech experience within the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)
- BLS CPR certification required : AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as contributing members of the healthcare team.
Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice.
During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.
