GENERAL SUMMARY
The Health Sciences Admissions and Student Success Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the success of students in the Health Sciences pathway at Community College of Denver.
This position provides general college navigation, admissions and registration counseling and assistance to prospective and current health sciences students, directs them to appropriate support resources when necessary, and maintains accurate record keeping that will guide goal attainment.
Duties and Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES
Selective Admission Application
- Provide general college navigation, admissions and registration counseling and assistance to prospective and current students.
- Review, process, and track health sciences admission applications.
- Validate submitted selective admission applications and documentation and follow up with applicants as needed.
- Work with the College Registrar to make changes to make changes to students’ Program of Study and ensure that student intended program is accurate in the student information system (Banner).
- Resolve issues with the Selective Admission Application process, and / or escalate issues to the program chairs and the Health Sciences Dean as appropriate.
- Provide semester reports of accepted and denied applicants.
- Collaborate with Health Sciences Program Chairs to review catalog and program homepages for any necessary program admission, updates, or changes.
- Collaborate with Health Sciences Program Chairs to send admission and denial letters to applicants.
- Assist with scheduling admission interviews.
- Maintain appropriate comments in student information system (Banner) for purposes of tracking release of information and verification.
- Review and validate student record information.
Office and Department Support
- Provide in-person and phone administrative support as needed.
- Research, adjust / update, resolve student record or registration issues / errors, (including emails, phone calls, forms, etc.).
- Use problem solving skills to communicate with staff, students, faculty / instructors (registrar’s office, course schedulers, advising dept.
etc.) as necessary to resolve problems, changes or conflicts.
- Adhere to FERPA and college guidelines in response to questions regarding to release of student records.
- Assist with Program specific information sessions.
- Plan and participate in recruitment and registration events.
Integrated Nursing Pathway (INP) Coordination
- Support students as they progress through the INP program by conducting focused support services including academic advising, academic progress review, and other activities that support student engagement and success.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing Education Programs and Dean of Health Sciences to develop the class schedules for the INP cohort.
- Represent Community College of Denver in meetings related to the INP programs.
- Assist students with questions related to the program and the application process and trouble shoot issues in collaboration with the INP partner and CCD departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to partnering with other departments throughout the college, serving on key college committees / taskforces, and attending department and pathway meetings..
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
- Associate degree from an accredited institution
- A Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Experience :
- Two Years of professional experience in Admission, Enrollment, Advising, High School Programs or a similar position.
- Demonstrated experience in handling multiple projects and decision making.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and to work independently or in a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities.
- Knowledge of admissions and registration processes.
- Strong computer skills with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and relational databases desired.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience :
- Knowledge of student information systems and software platforms, such as Banner, CRM Recruit, and Navigate. and Self-Service Banner student system.
- Experience with health care programs.
- Academic advising experience in a college setting.
