Job Description

Compliance Materials Review & Approval Quality Assurance team (CMRA) is an important compliance adherence control that reviews both externally facing (either marketing or non-marketing) materials, as well as internal materials (e.

g., procedures) that pose potential compliance risk to the Company.

The CMRA process relies on Business Line risk owners reviewing all submissions for their BL and rendering appropriate approval.

Utilizing a risk-based approach, the Second Line Risk Management function (in this case Corporate Compliance) performs an oversight and credible challenge role of the compliance risk management by the BL Risk owners.

The CMRA Quality Assurance (CMRA QA) team is a centralized Second Line Oversight team charged with the responsibility of evaluating the quality of reviews of submitted external and internal materials for compliance review by Business Line teams, as documented in the Compliance Approval Tool (CAT) System of Record.

CMRA QA carries out this responsibility through both Transactional testing, i.e., individual material submitted review, based on a statistical sample and Targeted testing, i.

e., testing of existing Business Line CMRA required controls.

Responsibilities :

Reporting to the Head of Assessments & Business Change Management (ABCM) group, the CMRA QA Manager will have the following key responsibilities :

  • Lead a team of professionals performing QA testing (QA Analysts), providing ongoing coaching and development
  • Own the testing methodology and approach; perform ongoing review to continually improve testing approach and risk coverage
  • Accountable for timely completion of monthly and ongoing testing, providing reasonable assurance that compliance risk posed by materials has been identified and appropriately mitigated
  • Engage with both Corporate Compliance and BL Risk Managers, as needed to address questions and
  • Review BL Action Plans for Material Exceptions identified; approve, and track completion on a timely basis
  • Provide value-added recommendations to BL Risk teams to more holistically improve CMRA controls
  • Provide monthly reporting, utilizing internal QUEST tool : Share trends, insights and recommendations
  • Periodically provide training for BL and Compliance Risk Management teams, as needed
  • Escalate concerns with both 1LOD and 2LOD Risk leadership, as appropriate

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically, more than eight years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills / Experience

  • Knowledge of key banking regulatory requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. Bank's banking products and services
  • 1-3 years of experience as a people manager, with aptitude in coaching and developing high-caliber professionals
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Effective writing and presentation abilities
  • Strong relationship building and partnering skills
  • Effective problem-solving and influencing abilities
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.
  • CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager)
  • Prior experience in Marketing materials review

Previous experience testing / audit roles

The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role.

In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

Pay Range : $108,375.00 - $127,500.00 - $140,250.00
