If so, Wound Care Advantage is the place to be! We are currently looking to hire a PART-TIME detail-oriented part time medical BILLER to join our team.
This is a part-time position with a maximum of 24 hours per week. The role requires you to work on-site 1-2 days per week.
Depending on departmental needs and specific projects, the on-site requirement may vary, ranging from once a week to every other week.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following revenue cycle areas :
Medical billing, insurance verification, follow-up with insurance companies and patients, insurance denials, creating and submitting written and / or digital appeals, insurance and self-pay collections.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies
- Resolve billing issues and discrepancies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Utilize medical collection strategies to minimize accounts receivable
- Perform posting charges and completion of claims to payers in a timely fashion
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Work on complete reconciliation process on accounts receivables (A / R)
- Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided
- Experience in reading and interpreting explanation of benefits (EOB) from various insurances
- Follow up on unpaid claims utilizing the Appeal or CIF processes as necessary.
- Prepare accurate statements for patients based on the payments received from their insurance company / companies
- Understand external rules and regulations as they relate to healthcare billing and collections Medicaid, state laws, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), etc.
- Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
- This position requires some of the work to be done in person and on site for a client based in Southern California.
- Other duties as assigned based on business and client operational needs.
Experience :
- Knowledge of medical coding systems
- Experience in medical billing processes
- Familiar with electronic medical record (EMR) and A / R systems
- Strong background working with institutional and professional revenue cycle areas : billing, follow-up, collections, and self-pay
- Familiarity with the following insurance products : commercial, government, and third-party liability
Requirements :
- Minimum 2 years billing experience preferred
- Proven work experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
- Knowledge of CPT / HCPCS codes and ICD-9-CM / ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, preferredStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience using a 10-key
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office(Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
