The two-year Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) administrative fellowship program provides the Administrative Fellow with a valuable broad-based health systems experience.

The Administrative Fellow will rotate among the System's four Delivery Networks (Yale-New Haven Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, and Northeast Medical Group), as well as spend time at the System level gaining exposure to corporate finance, human resources, strategic operations, and other corporate services.

Project assignments are made at each Delivery Network and are based on initiatives underway during the Administrative Fellow's tenure, with an attempt to meet the specific interests and needs of the Administrative Fellow.

Responsibilities

1. Meeting Support

Develop the agenda, provide written summary and coordinate presentations for key executive meetings, including but not limited to System Executive Committee, Corporate Management Group, and other meetings as designated.

2. Project Work

Actively participate in special projects / task forces at each Delivery Network.

  • 3. Develop Broad Range of Healthcare Management Skills
  • 4. Participate in shadowing experiences to develop understanding of health system operations, activities and infrastructure
  • 5. Participate in project management and support as directed by the EVP and Delivery Network CEOs / COOs. (Key past areas of focus have included ambulatory services, new business development, operational effectiveness, patient safety and quality, performance management, physician practice management, service excellence and strategy development).

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum two years experience in consulting, health care administration or related field strongly preferred

LICENSURE

Individual must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle necessary for travel among the Delivery Networks
