The Role : Security Captain

Responsibilities :

• Assume the role of Security Director and / or Manager in his / her absence.
• Assign specific duties to security officers.
• Schedule, direct, and supervise all employees assigned.
• Promote and enforce all of Twin River Casino's policies and procedures for an effective operation.
• Maintain proper floor procedures.
• Prepare necessary incident reports.
• Provide excellent guest service.
• Issue and inspect keys, radios, and equipment.
• Scrutinize all reports for investigative completeness and correctness.
• Respond to all emergency calls.
• Direct all emergency incidents until relieved by emergency responders with statutory authority.
• Administer and record all data entry of self-exclusions during a scheduled shift.
• Participate with dispute resolutions and make the final determination on guest ejections.
• Administer department policies, procedures, objectives, and standards.
• Schedule, evaluate, counsel, and discipline security staff members.
• Promote teamwork within the Security department.
• Maintain a working relationship with all department managers, employees, and representatives of outside agencies.
• Attend court hearings and other legal matters as required.
• Maintain confidentiality within the established guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Physical / Mental Requirements :

• Constantly write, stand, walk several hundred feet, sit, and hear.
• Frequently reach, run, kneel, direct others, and follow directions.

Working Conditions :

• Constantly hot, cold, noisy, wet, dry, dirty, and dusty.
• Contact with violent individuals.

Work in a moderate noise level environment, shifting to loud at times

Qualifications :

• Minimum of one-year experience as a security officer or previous law enforcement experience.
• Graduate of a municipal, state, or federal law enforcement agency.
• Active or retired member in good standing from the aforementioned law enforcement agencies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and develop constructive relationships with others.
• Demonstrate leadership abilities in directing, supervising, and motivating a diverse workforce.
• Prior investigative experience.
• Computer literacy required.

License Requirements :

• Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations Gaming License
• Rhode Island Pistol Permit
• Rhode Island Driver Operator License
• Serve Safe Certified

Target Salary Range : $27.00 p / h
