POSITION SUMMARY :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting Department. This role involves a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support our financial operations.
A general understanding of accounting processes and entry-level accounting skills are required for success in this role .
Candidate should possess basic knowledge of tasks such as accounts payable, job costing principles, expense reconciliation, vendor management, and inventory principles.
The ideal candidate would be dedicated, hardworking, reliable, learn quickly, and be able to adapt well to change with a positive, can-do attitude who can effectively implement our company's Standard Accounting and Operating Procedures.
This position will be heavily based in data-entry.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for analysis, purchase order matching, and entry of vendor invoices for payment.
- Ensure correct approvals and cost category coding of invoices.
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements and ensure all invoices are accounted for; research and process missing items as needed.
- Responsible for corporate account expense reconciliations and entry for payment.
- Responsible for corporate credit card expense reconciliations and postings for payment.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date Accounts Payable files, both paper and electronic.
- Assist in planning check runs based on communication with vendors.
- Respond to inquiries related to invoice payment status in a timely and accurate manner.
- Oversee and approve travel requests for employees, customers, and guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in Accounts Payable preferred, but not required.
- Experience in an office environment with data analysis and data entry.
- Experience within Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Detail oriented and great organization skills with high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and on a team
- Experience with an ERP system and / or manufacturing industry a plus
