DESCRIPTION
This is a part-time position working 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 6 AM - 11 AM.
This position is first point of contact between SWRSC and our patients. It is essential that the Receptionist represent the ideals of SWRSC at all times.
The primary responsibilities of the Receptionist are to ensure that patients and their families are welcomed to SWRSC with courtesy and warmth and that there medical records and account information are processed accurately and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organizes the Reception Desk so that the patient check in process functions quickly and efficiently.
- Greets patients and visitors warmly as they check in.
- Enters / verifies patient demographic and insurance information in the computer system.
- Reviews registration information and has patient complete missing fields, as appropriate.
- Presents the SWRSC Privacy Notice to patients and ensures that receipt is acknowledged on the registration document.
- Verifies that patients have received information pertaining to their rights and responsibilities and have completed the acknowledgement form.
- Obtains copies of insurance ID cards whenever possible.
- Enters updated registration information into the computer system.
- Collects copayments or deposits whenever possible and issues receipts for all payments accepted.
- Notifies Pre Op when the registration process is completed.
- Answers phones courteously and routes calls appropriately.
- Ensures that the cash drawer is kept secure at all times.
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with medical office staff, patients, surgeons, the SWRSC clinical team and coworkers.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education : High School Diploma.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations required.
- At least 2 years experience in a reception or registration position preferred.
- This position requires an individual with the ability to simultaneously handle competing priorities while maintaining a calm supportive environment for our patients.
- Position requires accuracy and organization.
