This position is responsible for maintaining lawns, shrubs, flowers, trees and grounds physically sound and aesthetically acceptable at JFK Medical Center, conference center, and the imaging center.

Works under supervision of Senior Groundskeeper.

Responsibilities

Cuts grass,trims and edges all lawns. Cleans and sweeps hospital grounds including outbuildings. Empties all rash containers daily.

Waters lawn,flowers,shrubs and plants. Reports all deficiencis regarding plants, shrubs, trees and lawn to the supervisor.

Weeds and waters all flower beds as needed.

• PM and CM work orders are filled out completely and completed on a daily basis. Daily work order tickets are filled out and submitted to the supervisor.
• Operates all power tools proficiently and safely. Wears protective safety gear in performance of duties to prevent injury.
• Other duties and / or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and / or GED equivalent programs, or technical school diploma required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in landscaping field or on the job training at JFK Medical Center.
