Starting Salary : $160K

PMCS Group is seeking an experienced OAR I to manage major school construction and modernization projects for our client, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) .

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 10 years of experience in Construction / Project Management of public, educational, or large commercial facilities, including 3 years managing projects over $10M.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and CCM certification.
  • High energy, excellent communication, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of various contracting methods (Low Bid, JOC, Design-Build) and familiarity with preparing phasing plans and estimating change orders.
  • Ability to be on-site 75-80% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with Design-Build, BIM, and LEED / CHPS certified projects.
  • Familiarity with DSA construction / design processes and OSHA safety regulations (OSHA 30 minimum).
  • California Architectural or Professional Engineer license or CCM credential preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage all phases of pre-construction, bidding, construction, and close-out for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with public agencies, contractors, and district staff to ensure timely project completion.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules to meet district standards.
  • Review construction documents, contractor submittals, and change order proposals to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring safety regulations and site requirements are met.
  • Prepare reports for upper management and provide updates on project progress.
  • Administer agreements between architects, contractors, and the district, and manage project close-out.
