JOB DESCRIPTION
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Must be able to read, understand, and develop technical electrical, control schematics, and P&ID (Process & Instrumentation) drawings as required.
- Develop and maintain electrical control systems within the facility and on all production equipment as required to maintain production throughput.
- Must have extensive industrial computer software experience and work with PLCs, VFDs, Temperature controllers, Timers, etc.
Rockwell Factory Talk computer systems.
- Troubleshoot problematic plant equipment and develop corrective action plans and provide direction and training to Maintenance / Tooling employees.
- Experience interfacing electrical control components with mechanical, hydraulic, & pneumatics systems in a production manufacturing environment.
- Work with suppliers to establish specifications of electrical and control systems and ensure conformance with established equipment control standards.
- Must use standard industrial engineering systems and methodologies to review processes and use data collected to drive process changes and create manufacturing efficiencies in combination with production staff.
- Develop and maintain standard control systems, document control programs and settings, and drive methods to standardize equipment control systems throughout our production environments.
- Effectively work as part of a team, communicate, and work with Maintenance and Tooling staff to accomplish 100% support of the operations Winding, Finishing, Fittings, and Nipples departments.
- Ensure all equipment functions are designed and operate within safe and legal operations according to OSHA, and all other federal, state, and local industry and governmental standards.
- Assists production activities in the production facility.
- Equipment troubleshooting, design, and optimization.
- Production methods for new or modified products.
- Design, build, and monitor product test equipment including enhancement of tools, molds, jigs, and fixtures.
- Coordinate equipment reliability issues with maintenance.
- Work with Quality to minimize scrap, and waste, and to maximize first-pass quality.
- Participate in management and strategy sessions as requested to help guide product development efforts.
- Other duties as required to support production operations goals and requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- An AS Degree in Engineering or related technical training, certification, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of Process, Controls, or Automation Engineering is strongly preferred
- Broad knowledge of machine maintenance, operation, and assembly practices is required
- Experiences with PLCs, BOMs, VFDs, etc.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred
