Become a Corporate Finance Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. This position will be in the Treasurer’s department within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.
Our FP&A team influences and leads change in a dynamic industry providing analytical, planning, and operational support to meet our business needs of SCE and Edison International (EIX).
As part of the FP&A team, you will collaborate across Finance to analyze the financial plans, strategic decisions, and regulatory outcomes.
The Advisor will support and lead various financial planning activities, including our short and long-term consolidated budgeting and forecasting activities;
as well as financial statement, earnings, liquidity, capital structure, cost of capital, and various other ad hoc financial analyses.

- Apply expertise in finance, financial analysis, financial modeling and strategic thinking to help identify and resolve complex issues.
- Support and lead the implementation and stabilization of SCE’s upgrade to its financial planning software, Utilities International (UI)
- Support the short or long-term financial planning process
- Analyzing consolidated earnings and cash flow drivers.
- Support and lead customer rate analysis, investor disclosures, rating agency disclosures, financing and dividend requirements.
- Prepare executive level presentations in support of management communications.
- Support and lead continuous improvement in processes and financial tools plus other ad hoc projects and responsibilities as assigned.
The Essentials
- Seven or more years of experience in the field of business, corporate finance or financial planning & analysis.
- Experience communicating complex analyses and financial information to senior management.
The Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, economics, or related work experience.
- Completion of AFP FP&A Certification or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program exam I, II or III.
- Experience with regulated utility finance and accounting methodologies, including developing revenue requirement projections.
- Advance Excel skills including complex financial analysis and modeling.
- Performing full-cycle ad-hoc financial analysis, including identifying client needs, gathering. relevant information from appropriate partners and presenting information to management.
- Building valuation, statistical, and financial models as well as ensuring the completeness and integrity of findings and recommendations.
- Experience with VBA, SQL, PowerQuery, PowerPivot or Utilities International (or similar, e.g., Hyperion) Planning and Budgeting software.
You should know
This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.
Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
