Responsibilities for certified welding inspector :
- Designs or reviews simple mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation and / or instrumentation systems using analytical and investigative methods and techniques to ensure systems meet required specifications
- Guides and assists technicians in fabrication and installation of simple mechanical and related equipment and routine systems in order to ensure conformance of product and systems with engineering design and customer specifications
- Inspection of all welds performed by themselves and other welders on location to ensure the welds meet customer specifications, or AWS code
- Observe in-process welding to ensure proper processes are being followed
- Certify all welders to the required AWS standard or if applicable
- Write qualifications for each welder on-site and the procedure qualifications for the welders
- Perform welding as required by customer specifications, prints, or AWS welding code
- Confer with fabrication sales team on welds, weld certifications & qualifications, and if company possesses capacity and ability to perform required welds per specifications
- Other miscellaneous duties and assignments as directed by the operations manager
- Perform visual inspection of structural steel at various client locations.
Qualifications :
- classroom training hours specific to UT, MT, PT, VT, and RT inspections.
- Have a verifiable log with references demonstrating a minimum of , total hours in NDT.
- Minimum requirements as outlined by AWS for obtaining a CWI certification
