We are seeking an experienced veterinarian to join our team as a corporate Regional Support Veterinarian ! This is a full-time, clinical , salaried position (4 days per week in our hospitals, on average) and requires travel to our practice locations in the Southwest Florida region.

This is a great opportunity for a candidate interested in working at multiple hospitals, mentoring, or beginning their career in veterinary leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full clinical duties while on shift in hospitals
  • Adapt to a multitude of practice environments and work with a wide variety of teams.
  • Strong level of empathy and should be able to modify their approach and treatment plan according to the unique needs of each hospital’s team and clientele
  • Positive outlook (glass half full mentality!)
  • Desire to help others
  • Strong sense of resiliency / adaptability
  • Local travel weekly
  • Prior leadership or mentorship experience also preferred

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
  • Hold or can obtain a veterinary license in good standing in the states in which our practices are located.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to delegate responsibility when appropriate.
  • The ability to analyze complex information and make quality decisions that are respectful of the stakeholders involved.
  • The ability to work with, lead, and motivate people of various personality types.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • The ability to conduct oneself in a manner befitting the importance of the position of Veterinarian.
  • The ability to represent American Veterinary Group and the practice to the profession and community in a positive manner.
