Construction Management Teacher (7-12)

Job Description

American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for Junior High / High School CTE Construction Management Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year.

Candidates must possess a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card and a minimum of three years experience.

Candidates with the following qualities will thrive as part of our growing team :

• Provide instruction and course / program management at the high school level in areas of residential and commercial construction.
• Demonstrate knowledge and implement a "hands-on" approach to critical thinking and problem solving skills needed for current and future construction industry employment standards.
• Provide instruction in teamwork, communications, problem solving, decision making and computer technology which relates to work place and higher education skills needed in the construction industry.
• Work with staff and post-secondary institutions to develop and maintain career pathways which prepare students for apprenticeship, licensure, community college or university degree programs in the construction trade areas.
• Prepare instructional materials, maintain equipment, and manage materials of instruction which maximize the resources needed to deliver effectively a diverse instructional program.
• Demonstrate the ability to understand and effectively relate to and teach young people 13-18 as they become productive young adults and members of the community.
• Demonstrate an understanding of, and lead student experiences in related student organizations.
• Contribute to the mission of the school by striving to attain school improvement plan and career completer goals.
• Work with employers and community groups to promote and advance technical skills.
• Create and instructional environment that is conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Communicate standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents. Meet with students and parents.
• Maintains complete and accurate student academic, attendance, and disciplinary records. Monitors and assesses student academic progress.
• Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, para educators, parents, and community members in the education of students.
• Attends staff meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
