An insight to the role

As the Inside Sales Representative for North America, thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and expanding a current customer base, while being forward thinking in gaining new customers and maintaining key relationships.

As part of the role, the applicant will be given the opportunity and the autonomy to develop and grow their area in a fun and fast paced environment.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have a true passion for the future developments of the US livestock industry.

The applicant will thrive on building relationships both internally and externally while being comfortable working remotely from home, approaching new sales leads and demonstrating strong initiative.

The candidate will be an important member of the Datamars selling team spearheading a new strategy to increase our LID sales and cross sell an expanding range of products from the Datamars portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity to up-sell into an existing loyal Livestock Identification (LID), Farm Resource Management (FRM), Smart Farming (SF) and Animal Health Delivery Systems (AHDS) customer base and acquire new customers and revenue streams in a competitive market.

  • Maintain and grow the LID, FRM, SF, and AHDS revenues in the current book of business via customer retention and acquisition.
  • Cross-sell existing and new customers additional products and solutions from the Datamars portfolios (Ear Tags, Weighing Equipment, Fencing, Smart Farming Solutions, etc.)
  • Develop close relationships with our biggest and most important Tier 1 customers in the region and look to grow the rest of the customer base to become Tier 1.
  • Keep up with key market trends both locally and nationally.
  • Update the CRM systems with orders and sales lead information.
  • Support our marketing team with ideas and feedback on campaigns.

Key success factors

  • Previous sales experience a plus.
  • Preferably an agriculture degree / background.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to succeed and hit targets set.
  • Exceptional phone presence with the ability to connect and build relationships with team members and customers over the phone.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Salesforce.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Livestock (Ruminant / Monogastric) knowledge desirable but not essential.
