SITE OF SERVICE :

• Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, TX
• Full Time Position

POSITION QUALIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS :

• Degree : Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing
• Education : Accredited by ONE OF THE FOLLOWING :
• Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
• The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
• Additional Certifications : Must have the following hands-on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Experience : Shall have a minimum of one (1)-year of relative experience within the last three (3)-years, which includes the care of adults and newborns.
• Licensure : Possess a current and unrestricted license to practice Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Island.
• U.S. Citizenship : Shall be a U.S. citizen.
• English Language Requirement : Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
• Physical Capability : Shall be physically capable of standing and / or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

CORE DUTIES :

• Assist surgeons and Anesthesiologists with complex or potentially life-threatening procedures such as insertion of invasive lines, chest tubes, tracheotomies or removal of foreign bodies from the trachea / Endotracheal tubes and nasogastric tubes
• Conscious / moderation sedation
• Pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative care
• Recover post-surgical patients including post-cesarean section patients under general anesthesia
• Administer and support infusion therapy services

HOURS :

• It’s a 24 / 7 facility therefore hours of performance shall be as set forth by the applicable Department Chief or his / her designated Government representative.
• The MTF is a 24 / 7 facility, therefore hours of performance may vary. Currently, shifts are 8 hours, Mon-Fri but are subject to change .

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects.

Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential.

High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
