We are seeking a Senior Environmental Planner (NDEC Scientist III) to join our Redmond, WA team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Environmental Planner to join the Atlas / OSG team.
  • The ideal candidate will support senior managers in preparing, editing, and ensuring the quality of permit and approval submissions for heavy civil transportation projects in Western Washington.
  • This role requires expertise in critical area permitting for fish passage, commercial, and heavy civil construction projects.
  • The candidate should have a proven track record in securing Section 401 and 404 consistency letters, Section 402 stormwater permits, HPA approvals, local critical areas permits, and NEPA / SEPA approvals.
  • Attention to detail and strong coordination skills with stakeholders, engineers, landscape architects, and tribal co-managers are essential.

Requirements

Minimum requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in environmental planning and permitting, or another related field..

Technical Requirements :

  • Technical Writing Skills : The successful candidate will have a high proficiency in technical writing, proposals, and documentation related to environmental and civil engineering projects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
  • Experience Coordinating with Various Stakeholders : Demonstrated experience in coordinating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, community groups, and internal project teams.

Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate communication to ensure project objectives are met.

Drive to Work in Multi-disciplinary Teams : Strong desire and ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams comprising engineers, scientists, planners, and other professionals.

Willingness to contribute ideas, share expertise, and support team members to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality results.

Proven track record delivering environmental permits. The candidate will have managed projects where they were in charge of acquiring key permits and approvals on-time and on-budget.

Other miscellaneous qualities :

  • Ability to travel occasionally to locations in Western Washington, including the Olympic Peninsula.
  • Able to work in inclement weather and difficult terrain.

Compensation : $87k - $104k hourly

$87k - $104k hourly

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
