The Opportunity
Par Pacific Holdings is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic mainland logistics division.
Reporting to the Mainland Logistics Engineering and Integrity Manger and as key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our pipeline infrastructure.
Key activities include :
Perform detailed engineering design calculations for piping & pipelines, including : General hydraulic calculations ability to size and select pumps, control valves, etc.
Ability to use fluid dynamic simulation software (AFT Fathom preferred). Conduct pipe stress analysis using software (AutoPIPE preferred) to ensure all design codes are met.
Understanding of all relevant standards / codes, including ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, CFR Part (Pipeline Transportation of Hazardous Liquids and Carbon Dioxide Pipelines), and applicable API standards.
Participate in pipeline risk assessments and have a general understanding of pipeline integrity management programs. Ability to use 3D scanning equipment and point cloud data.
Support project teams throughout the entire engineering lifecycle, from conceptual design through construction and commissioning.
Participate in the selection, specification, and procurement of mechanical equipment and materials for pipelines and logistics facilities.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (project managers, operations personnel) and external contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during field construction activities to resolve mechanical issues related to pipelines and associated equipment.
Prepare clear, concise, and well-documented engineering reports and calculations to effectively communicate technical findings and recommendations.
Participate in technical meetings and presentations to effectively convey engineering concepts and project progress to a diverse audience.
Maintain a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) principles by following established protocols and procedures.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in pipeline design technologies, codes, and best practices. Continuously develop and improve technical skills through professional development opportunities.

Qualifications
To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Additional qualifications include :
- Required Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (PE registration preferred Demonstrated understanding of pipeline design and integrity principles.
- Proficiency in hydraulic calculations for fluid flow applications.
- Working knowledge of piping hydraulic and pipe stress analysis software (AFT Fathom and AutoPIPE preferred).
- Familiarity with 3D scanning equipment and point cloud development is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to a diverse audience.
- Ability to multitask effectively and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software for creating and maintaining mechanical drawings.
- Willingness to travel and work in remote locations.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong emphasis on pipelines and other logistics assets.
