Job Title : Comparative Medicine Technician

Shift timings : 6 : 30am to 2 : 30pm
Primary Function of Position :
Comparative Medicine focuses on animal welfare, employee safety and efficiency to enable an internal clinical environment for use by the research and development and training organizations.
The Comparative Medicine team simultaneously supports a multitude of product and procedure development programs to allow expedited iteration and evolution of our products and procedures.
The Comparative Medicine Technician primary function is to, under general supervision, perform basic technical and operational support within the CM ORs and Training labs.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Lab Ops Duties :
Masters instrument knowledge and basic reprocessing requirements
Understands lab setup requirements, able to move systems and prep systems as needed
Understands requirement differences for validation studies
Orders, maintains, organizes inventory of equipment and robotic I&A
setup instrument trays
Maintain records for equipment
Perform routine maintenance on equipment
Seeks help when needed
All :
Able to perform turnover duties
Stocking supplies, recognizes expiration dates
Maintain cleaning and sanitation schedule
Able to document per WI.
Communicates and collaborates effectively with individual contributors, managers, surgeons and external vendors.
Perform other duties as required to support the company's overall strategy and goals
Vet Tech Duties to help with :
Technical Examples : animal prep (receiving, sedation, percutaneous catheterization, urinary catheterization, intubation, transport, sheath placement)
Able to assist in monitoring and troubleshoot standard cases with Vet Techs.
Understands when to seek help from veterinarian or senior technicians
Skill / Job Requirements :
HS diploma minimum, AS preferred (vet tech programs, biology, animal science preferred) but not required. Contractor conversion, generally with minimum 6 months experience (at Intuitive) OR prior experience in setting (lab animal or clinic) handling animals and basic understanding of anesthesia.
Good communication (written, verbal), documentation skills

Must wear personal protective equipment as defined / required by job assignments.
Must be able to lift / carry 50lbs
May be exposed to radiation or electromagnetic fields, lasers, noise ? 80dB TWA, allergens / biohazards / chemicals (cautery smoke)
