The position of graphic traffic manager requires a general understanding of graphic design and file prep for large format printing.
This person must have a desire to learn tradeshow, event and environmental graphics. This position requires a knowledge of branding application and an excellent sense of visual design as well as technical production skills.
Detail oriented a must, as well as working within a diverse multi-disciplinary team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES :
- Preflight incoming art files sent by clients and use graphic editing software (adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) to check and determine if all elements of the job (fonts, proportions, resolution, colors, etc ) conform to needed specifications for the job.
- Ability to identify artwork that will cause issues in the production process.
- Read work order as well as all notes and instructions from Sales, Art Director, and Graphics Production Manager.
- Perform basic troubleshooting.
- Communicate concerns found in preflight procedure to sales person, customer, and / or graphic artists assigned to projects.
- Act as the client liaison between salesperson and the graphics department.
- Consult with graphic designers about incoming and current jobs and work with the production team when issues arise.
- Collaborate with clients and internal team members, assessing design direction required.
- Perform file intervention when necessary, communicating this to appropriate internal team members and client.
- Coordinate with internal teams to get accurate sizing and measurements.
- Proficiency in Mac required, and excellent software skills in Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign) and file transfer protocols.
- Excellent communication, visualization, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Must be accurate and detail oriented.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work efficiently within allocated design times or communicating additional work required and documenting all time spent.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy team environment.
ESTIMATING :
- Prepares estimates by gathering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying drawings, blueprints, specifications, and related documents;
Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
- Read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates. Collaborate with designers, sales staff, and vendors on estimates.
Evaluate a product's cost-effectiveness or profitability.
- Recommend alternatives to make a product more cost effective or profitable.
- Work with sales teams to prepare estimates and bids for clients.
