As a Sr Project Engineer, you'll assist in developing and implementing the strategy for multiple integrated plans for product development including coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to release.

You will monitor the product / program / project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed.

You'll also review, manage, proactively challenge, and control status of project programs and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports, and guide and lead teams in achieving the goals of the program including issue identification, resolution and contingency planning.

Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground / flight training and complete logistics support.

The Sr. Liaison Engineering Manager will be responsible for the following activities on a large development program :

Aircraft Test Activities :

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing complex aircraft test activities to establish system requirements.
  • Assist in the collection, analyzing, and interpretation of test data to verify system performance and compliance with future design specifications.
  • Collaborate with test engineers, pilots, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and thorough testing procedures

Design Coordination :

  • Act as the primary liaison between the onsite team and offsite design engineering team
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication to ensure alignment on design objectives, specifications, and project timelines
  • Coordinate the integration of new design efforts into the existing aircraft systems, ensuring compatibility and functionality

Technical Interface :

  • Serve as the primary technical interface between the onsite engineering team and other departments, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are informed of project progress and any issues that may arise
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during testing and design integration processes
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to troubleshoot and implement solutions

Documentation and Reporting :

  • Assist in the creation of comprehensive technical documentation, including test plans, test reports, technical specifications, and design documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of all test and design coordination activities and findings

Compliance and Standards :

  • Ensure all test and design coordination activities comply with relevant program contractual requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of intellectual property considerations and ensure all activities respect IP laws.
  • Support coordination for on aircraft certification work scope - including military certification and FAA certification

Must-haves :

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study and typically 12 or more years of relevant technical experience
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practice
  • Extensive experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering role, with a focus on aircraft systems, testing, and design coordination.
  • Proven experience working in a liaison role or similar, coordinating between multiple departments or teams to include troubleshooting, dispositioning tags, and non-compliances
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems, testing procedures, and design principles.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred :

  • Typically 6-8 years of relevant leadership and / or technical management experience
  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers
  • Experience with test equipment and instrumentation used in aircraft testing.
  • Familiarization with FAA certification (conformity, compliance documentation, etc)
  • Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management
  • Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedure
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.

The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.
