Senior Civil Engineer Flood Control & Water Resources

Required Licensure : California professional civil engineer license, or able to obtain California license within 12 months by comity

Kjeldsen Sinnock & Neudeck Inc. (KSN) is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team to help us fulfil our mission to be the trusted firm for delivering the right solutions for our clients’ water and wastewater needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for signing bonus of between $5,000 and $10,000 depending on experience and education.

Your impact to our team

As a Senior Civil Engineer focusing on Flood Control & Water Resources, you will be leading a team to support our clients in the Sacramento Valley, Central Valley, and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta who operate and maintain State Plan of Flood Control (SPFC) levees and non-project levees.

The ideal candidate will be an energic and proactive professional who can lead a team, multitask, and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

You will report directly to the company's senior management team.

Responsibilities

  • Working in flood control, environmental restoration, reclamation and project management to support State Plan of Flood Control (SPFC) and non-project levee clients in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Central Valley regions.
  • Assisting in the design of projects, performing engineering studies, preparing construction documents and engineering calculations, and providing client support for various funding programs.
  • Assisting clients to comply with changing flood control operations and maintenance standards, in collaboration with our multi-disciplinary team.
  • Preparing detailed written memoranda and reports on technical assignments and presenting technical information to peers and clients, representing KSN and clients on multiple levels.

Skills and Experience

  • 5 or more years experience as a PE with increasing levels of responsibility / responsible charge.
  • 8-plus years of experience required; including progressively responsible for project management
  • Self-motivated, technically competent, client- and solution-focused individual.
  • Able to be self-directing and self-starting.
  • Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills, including interpretation of complex technical and contractual language.
  • Aptitude and hands-on experience with computer applications used in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience developing construction plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Experience in levee design, erosion control, and permitting.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions regarding complex issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, organize and analyze engineering data and make comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to lead project meetings and represent the organization in communications pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.

Compensation

Compensation package commensurate with experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range is $115,000-$150,000 per year.

The position of Senior Civil Engineer is an exempt position.
