This search focuses on the area of rehabilitation engineering and is part of the Health Equity in Rehabilitation Science & Engineering cluster hire at NYU, joint with NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
The aim of this cluster is to bring together experts across engineering and rehabilitation science to develop new, cutting-edge solutions to some of the most pressing health problems faced by underserved communities.

The laboratories in the department create new approaches and tools for medical imaging, tissue engineering and repair, bioinstrumentation and biosensors, mechanobiology, robotics and prosthetics for rehabilitation, synthetic and systems engineering, neuroengineering and a wide variety of other applications.

Qualifications
We are looking to hire in the general area of rehabilitation engineering, which includes, but is not limited to, rehabilitation robotics, wearable assistive systems, human-machine interfaces for rehabilitation, closed-loop stimulation technologies, and biosignal processing for rehabilitation engineering.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, or a closely related discipline. We seek individuals who have or have the potential to develop a strong record of scholarship, leadership, curricular innovation, entrepreneurship, and an excellent funding record.
In addition, applicants should have demonstrated or have the potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring.
