At Houston Methodist the FacilitiesTechnician position is responsible for completing basic assignedtasks by performing various aspects of work associated with theirshop / department for maintenance of Houston Methodist facilities.
This position performs safety and preventative maintenanceinspections and is responsible for obtaining materials necessaryfor job completion associated with their shop / department.
TheFacilities Technician position participates in the maintenance andtesting of emergency systems in the trade or job associated withtheir shop / department.
This position completes basic mechanicalelectrical and plumbing carpentry and painting repairs / requests asappropriate.

SERVICEESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performsentity surveillance through rounding and issuing of work orders;identifies opportunities for facility improvements providingrecommendations and work orders to advance the customer experienceand servicelevels.
- Assists othertechnicians and associated personnel in maintaining the operationof the central plant(s) and daily operations of the facilityincluding minor facilityneeds.
- Seeks outadditional information and reference materials from Senior / LeadTech to gain clarification to make semiskilled maintenancerepairs.
- Conducts basicanalysis troubleshooting and general maintenance repair. Performspreventative maintenance inspections to include HVAC electrical andplumbing as appropriate in compliance with codes ordinances andstatutes.
QUALITY / SAFETYESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Prioritizes workactivities and maintains set timelines as necessary to optimizeresponse time on work order trouble tickets (e.
g. average time toclose tickets).
Followsdepartment safety standards and policies and conducts allprocedures accordingly. Assists with implementation and educationof departmentbased safety initiatives and standards of practice.
Maintains a high level of awareness for staff in the areas ofoperation and uses great caution while navigating the workareas.
Competently usestools and equipment to perform the job in an efficient effectiveand safe manner.
FINANCEESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Providesaccurate and complete documentation of workorders.
- Monitor the useand inventory of spare parts maintenance supplies and equipment.Selfmotivated to independently manage time effectively reducingincidental overtime and prioritizing dailytasks.

Participates indepartment projects. Assumes responsibility for growth anddevelopment by participating in inservices programs and continuingeducation.
Completes and updates My Development Plan and discusseswith management.
