Job Summary
The TSYS School of Computer Science is calling for applications for Student assistants for our Computer Science Tutoring lab.
Student assistants will tutor both in person and online in the tutoring lab.
Responsibilities
The students hired for this position will be responsible for tutoring for the following classes : CPSC 1301K, CPSC 1302K, CPSC 1555, CPSC 2105, CPSC 2108, CPSC 2125, CPSC 3111, CPSC 3116, CPSC 3118, CPSC 3121, CPSC 3131, CPSC 6105, CPSC 6106, CYBR 2159, AND CYBR 2160.
Students are required to be proficient in Java and Python. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The position is competitive, so all applicants will be required to demonstrate their skills in Java and Python.
Students hired for this position will also be required to take and complete the ITDS 2795- Lead Learners course and complete it within the first few weeks of employment.
This course teaches you the best techniques for tutoring.
Proposed Salary
Payment will be at the standard hourly rate for undergraduate and graduate student assistants of $15 per hour. This position can work up to 19 hours per week.
Even though students can work up to 19 hours per week, the weekly hours will be based on tutoring lab usage and budget.
Work Schedule
The tutoring manager will create a schedule based on the student assistant's class schedule. The schedule will be set for the semester and no changes will be made once it is set.
