Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine is a premier academic medical center located in the heart of Richmond.

Accounting for almost half of VCU’s sponsored research, the School of Medicine is internationally recognized for patient care and education.

Position Summary :

Standardized Patients are used in medical simulations to create realistic educational encounters with medical students. Students gain valuable experience practicing communication and exam techniques.

  • Presents professional demeanor around other staff and client
  • Hours / Days : up to 29 hours / week, as needed

Required Qualifications :

  • Must be comfortable being examined by medical students of either gender
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have regular and reliable access to email and have a working phone number

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in the field of acting or role-play
  • Experience in giving feedback in basic communication skills
  • An interest in medicine or medical education
  • Presents professional demeanor around other staff and client
