Product Stewardship & Regulatory Manager

Job Overview

We’re seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Environmental Policy Professional to support development of policies in the areas of extended producer responsibility and provide indirect compliance support to member companies, which are home appliance manufacturers across North America. This collaborative role sits within a close-knit team of Regulatory Affairs, Government Affairs, and other teams.

You will help support member companies anticipate trends and provide indirect compliance support for an ever-increasingly complex set of regulatory and legislative requirements related to waste management. You will work together with a cross-functional team and engage with a variety of external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a team player who is collegial, pragmatic, technically knowledgeable, and able to research and translate complex policies through writing and orally to internal and external audiences. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Government Affairs and Legal– 25%

• Monitor regulatory developments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape proactive policy.
• Serve as the internal expert on compliance strategy during legislative and regulatory initiatives.
• Host regular industry update calls and represent AHAM at regulatory hearings and advisory sessions.
• Attend and provide testimony at regulatory or legislative meetings as required.
• Support lobbying efforts of legislative and executive branches related to Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) programs, coordinating with cross-functional team and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical expertise in support of any necessary litigation.
• Cultivate stakeholder relations with other producers’ groups.
