The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for an academic Complex Care Pediatrician.
The Complex Care Pediatrician will care for children with medical complexities (CMC) in our outpatient clinics, in a consultative model of co-management with community-based primary care medical homes in the Intermountain West.
The Divisions leading initiative is the Comprehensive Care Program, established in 2007. Comprehensive Care is a consultative system of interdisciplinary, team-based care for children with medical complexities (CMC), technology-dependencies, chronic conditions, and complex disabilities.
We emphasize co-management with primary care medical homes, parent-provider partnerships, shared-decision making, and goal-directed care.
CMC in our Comprehensive Care Program have >
3 organ systems affected, technology dependencies, medical fragility and complexity, and multifaceted disabilities. Inpatient consultations at Primary Childrens Hospital and University of Utah Health are provided in a team-based approach.
Our Division faculty also have clinical roles at a local, 30-bed pediatric transitional care / LTAC unit for children with technology-dependencies in a 120-bed, community-based specialty hospital, and at a local pediatric skilled nursing facility;
clinical roles will be aligned with the interests of the selected candidate. Qualified candidates must be board eligible / board certified in General Pediatrics.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience and / or training in the care of CMC and disabilities. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure Track, at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
