Job Title : Lead UX Designer

Location : Newark, NJ (Hybrid days per week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead User Experience (UX) Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of years of experience in a lead role and - years of overall UX design experience.
This position is critical as we are in the process of building a robust UX team, which will eventually consist of six members.
Initially, this role will be responsible for leading the team and, in the near term, will involve hiring two additional team members.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to design portals, applications, and web properties.
- Partner with UX researchers, designers, developers, and UX managers to translate information architecture, navigation, and process flows into intuitive and aesthetically pleasing solutions.
- Develop user journey maps, personas, low-fidelity wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts.
- Utilize tools such as Figma and Adobe Experience Designer to create high-quality designs.
- Leverage GlassBox for user experience analytics and insights.
- Create and maintain design libraries for use by other teams.
- Ensure designs meet WCAG Level AA accessibility standards.
Key Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Information Architecture, Communications, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

- Proven ability to gather user research and test concepts with users to inform design decisions.
- Experience conducting expert reviews and / or heuristic evaluations.
- Proficient with industry-standard design tools (, Adobe XD, Figma, Glassbox).
- Strong portfolio showcasing user journey maps, personas, low-fidelity wireframes, and prototypes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously.
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with internal clients and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design and research activities.
- Knowledge of foundational web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines (WCAG / ).
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience working with Agile methodology.
- Practical application of accessibility standards and guidelines.
- Expertise in group facilitation, user interviews, heuristic evaluations, task analysis, usability test moderation, and card sorting.
- Experience designing for mobile and / or responsive web.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences.
- Visual design skills and knowledge of video, motion graphics, or photography.
- Eagerness to learn from engagement and team members.
- Proven ability to work across the design process with high quality and attention to detail.
- Healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
