About the Role
We are currently seeking an engineer to work as an Automation Robotics Engineer in the R&D Hardware group. This is a full time, exempt position.
You will be working with a team of engineers in both the USA and Sweden to develop robotic applications in the packaging industry.
This is a new product for Packsize so you will get a chance to provide input on the system architecture from the beginning.

What You’ll Bring
Experience with programming and integrating industrial robots such as ABB or Fanuc with a controls system
Experience with ROS is a plus
Experience with programming and integrating industrial vision systems such as SICK or Cognex smart cameras with a controls system
Experience with Halcon machine vision software is a plus
Experience in Codesys programming environment
Experience with IEC 61131-3 standards (structured text is a must, ladder logic and FBD are a plus)
Experience with industrial ethernet protocols like EtherCAT
Experience with object oriented PLC programming
Application development experience in a text-based, high-level language (Python, C, C++) is a plus
Experience with Git version control including commit, branching, merging, debugging and related functions for code development and management
Experience using Azure DevOps for code development
Familiar with agile approach to product development
Ability to read electrical schematics
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues is a plus
Curious with a continuous improvement mindset
Experience with an Engineering Change Process (ECO / ECN) is a plus
Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS) or similar
What You’ll Do
Design, program and test robotic sequences for packaging product placement
Document design decisions and share findings with team members
Support machines during production - remote and on-site support
Review existing code and fix bugs and issues raised by the Product team
Support testing by collaborating with our Software and Quality Engineering group
Travel to customer locations to resolve technical problems
Up to 5%-15% travel as needed
What We Offer
The salary range for this role is $89k to $126k however, Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate's prior work experience, education / training, and any special skills.
