Mechanical Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing heating-ventilation-cooling systems and plumbing systems, performing load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling.
You will also design refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings where food and other perishable goods are stored.
This position requires strong coordination skills and the ability to work in a team environment. The ideal candidate will review the installation of designed equipment / systems for compliance with construction documents and perform duties across multiple projects within established schedules.
This role offers an opportunity to work on a wide variety of project types, scales, and complexity.
Responsibilities
Design heating-ventilation-cooling systems and plumbing systems.
Perform load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling.
Design refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings where food and other perishable goods are stored.
Coordinate with other disciplines and work in a team environment.
Review installation of designed equipment / systems for compliance with construction documents.
Perform duties with multiple projects within the established schedules.
Work on a wide variety of project types, scales, and complexity.
Work on concurrent projects.
Prepare construction cost estimates, both in a broad and detailed scope.
Assist in the development of contract specifications and research the application of new procedures and / or products.
Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
Act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Revit, mechanical design, MEP design, HVAC design, and refrigeration.
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) Certification.
2+ years of mechanical design experience and refrigeration design.
Strong teamwork, communications, and client relationship skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Strong work ethic and solid organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with construction cost estimating.
Aptitude for acting as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
Work Environment
The office has a bullpen-like setup with a family-oriented atmosphere. The team consists of 10 employees. The company is open to offering hybrid work arrangements after a demonstrated ability to perform.
