Responsibilities

Independently review and analyze Business Banking Loan requests to determine credit worthiness of the applicant with increasing levels of responsibility and lending authority.

Make sound loan underwriting decisions within the Bank’s loan policies and procedures to minimize potential risk potential to Bank.

  • Analyze business loan applications by evaluation of collateral, financial statements, projections, global cash flow, business plans, leases, rent rolls, business and personal credit reports, guarantor statements and additional information provided by the customer to determine credit worthiness.
  • Determine appropriate loan structure, pricing and risk rating.
  • Decision and condition loan applications based on acceptable risk tolerance in a timely manner within CBNA loan policies and procedures and within authorized lending limits.
  • Concisely summarize findings in comments rationalizing loan decision.
  • Make sound loan recommendations to BB Underwriting Manager or Senior Underwriter on loan requests above authorized lending limit.
  • Ensure commercial mortgages meet all conditioned criteria and work to resolve any issues arising from due dilegence.
  • Work independently and efficiently to manage multiple customer loan reqests.
  • Serve as a resource to assist and mentor branch lenders.
  • Provide quality and effective customer service.
  • Identify the necessity and facilitate the underwriting of SBA guaranteed loans.
  • Cooperate with other members of the Business Banking Department to achieve departmental goals.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field of study (Finance, Management, Economics, Accounting) or equivalent in experience, with accounting credits or experience preferred.
  • Experience as a Credit Analyst or Lender with proven track record. Commercial lending experience preferred. Ideal candidate would have desire to work toward higher levels of responsibility and lending authority.
  • NextGen experience a plus.
  • A thorough knowledge of current lending and banking regulations, loan policies, and procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and all other departmental computer programs.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
