What you will do
As a Sous Chef in a healthcare setting, you play a crucial role in elevating and expanding your culinary expertise. Collaborating with the Executive Chef, you will contribute to the overall direction and guidance for food production, implementing systematic methods, standardized recipes, portion control, menu development, and purchasing requirements.

- Ensure client and customer satisfaction through impeccable food production.
- Communicates effectively at various levels, including management, clients, customers, and associates.
- Follow directives from the Executive Chef or FSD.
- Maintain strict adherence to recipes for all food production and products.
- Conduct accurate inventory counts in all food storage areas, practicing FIFO (First In, First Out) in assigned areas.
- Produce menu items according to timeline requirements.
- Uphold all HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) standard operating procedures.
- Label all prepared items with essential information, including item details, prep date, use-by date, and the preparer's initials.
- Execute various cooking and preparation methods on proteins, vegetables, starches, and other ingredients within the prescribed time frame to meet all service times.
What you will need
- Three (3) years of prior experience, preferably within healthcare, senior living, or high-volume setting.
- Culinary Arts degree or other professional training is a plus.
- Professional kitchen environment experience, with a preference for scratch-based cooking expertise.
- Proficient computer skills, including various programs, Microsoft Office applications, email, and internet usage.
- Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
- Ability to provide documents for work authorization. We utilize E-Verify, an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
