Galvanizing Production Supervisor
Valtir is currently looking to hire a Galvanizing Production Supervisor for our plant in Orangeburg, SC.

Our products are specified, sold, and installed throughout North America and in more than 100 international markets. As a Galvanizing Production Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that your team’s daily work assignments are completed in accuracy on time and in a safe manner.
You will be expected to lead by example, be proactive in identifying and solving problems, and act with the utmost levels of integrity and safety.
First Shift 5 : 00AM 3 : 30PM / Second Shift 2 : 30PM-1AM, Monday Thursday with Fridays or Saturdays as production requires.
What You’ll Do
- Must meet all required expectations of Safety, Quality and Production.
- Serve as expert in the three main steps of the hot dip galvanizing process, surface preparation, galvanizing and post-treatment.
- Performs the same work duties as those of whom they supervise and / or perform more difficult skilled tasks or assists in their performance.
- Delegate work to appropriate team members by providing accurate, complete, and timely instructions with defined expectations for work completion.
- Operate equipment and tools to aid in manufacturing highway safety products, fork lift and overhead crane.
- Maintain efficient production in the department by training, instructing, and directing team members.
- Monitor and adapt processes and schedules to accomplish manufacturing goals.
- Complete all required paperwork and inspections.
- Understand the galvanizing process and demonstrate knowledge to achieve optimal operating efficiency.
- Ensure all equipment & tanks are always operating properly (acid levels, temperatures, etc.
- Supervise a small group of 1st & 2nd Shift employees.
- Understand product codes and quality requirements for each product.
- Work as necessary including occasional weekends to ensure proper scheduling support.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- Work in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled.
- The job is a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the plant.
- Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes.
- Attendance and showing up to work on time are important to the success of the plant. Dependable job attendance is expected.
What You’ll Need
Completion of a standard high school education or the equivalent or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
5+ years of experience and certified to operate forklift and crane. 3 years production and / or manufacturing supervision.
Previous galvanizing management experience is preferred. Solid analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex business problems and identify priorities.
Demonstrated leadership, team building, organizational and interpersonal skills Professional communication skills for problem solving within all levels of the organization.
Well organized, detailed orientated, with the ability to handle all tasks with sense of urgency.
