Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interviews, counsels, and tests for various communicable diseases
- Provides disease related educations program to groups
- Compiles statistical reports
- Conducts investigative field work to locate contacts
- Provides disease related information via phone or in person
- Participates in rotation of 24 / 7 call for communicable disease reports
- Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned
Minimum Requirements
NOTE : YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED.
TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree , preferably in Public Health, Science, Nursing, Sociology, Humanities, or Psychology + One (1) full-time year of Public Health experience , preferably in Epidemiology
TO APPLY, must possess a Master's degree or higher in Public Health or a closely related field.
TO APPLY, must possess a valid and current driver license. Note : A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.
Must be able to read in order to gather information and conduct literature searches.
Must be able to write and prepare reports on investigations, have computer knowledge, understand the job subject matter, and interact in bilingual settings.
Spanish and English proficiency in oral and written communication preferred.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
