Summary :
This role is responsible for working with the Taco Cabana brand finance and marketing teams to account for and analyze all marketing and advertising costs.
This role supports the Director of Accounting in various ad hoc analyses and projects.
Responsibilities :
- Work closely with marketing, brand finance, and other business teams to ensure timely and accurate recognition of marketing expenses in the general ledger
- Responsible for the variance analysis of actual advertising costs as well as Marketing G&A expenses vs. budget, forecast, and prior year
- Responsible for the accounting of all gift card programs for the brand
- Assist administrator with daily maintenance of applications, as well as the month-end close process
- Responsible for the accounting of worker’s comp and general liability insurance premiums
- Work with internal and external auditors to provide information and documentation required as part of audits, reviews, and / or SOX compliance
- Prepare all monthly account reconciliations associated with marketing, gift cards, and insurance premiums
- Take on other responsibilities and prepare ad hoc analyses as requested by Director of Accounting
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 4-5 years prior work experience
- Active CPA License required
- Ability to quickly learn and maneuver in systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed, highly organized and able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, brand finance and other business groups
- Strong customer service ethic must understand and agree that our job is to make the other employees’ lives easier so that they can do the best job possible serving our customers!
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak times, such as month-end accounting close, quarterly reviews, year-end audit and conversion of financial system.
- Positive attitude and teamwork mentality are required!
