POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain, inspect, service, test and repair all systems on locomotives, mobile equipment and vehicles used in plant, yard and road service
- Diagnose diesel engine malfunctions and make repairs within regulatory and company guidelines
- Complete work in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings and service manuals
- Evaluation of parts for reuse, repair or replacement
- Non-structural welding, adjustment and calibration to mechanical components
- Modify and construct mechanical assemblies
- Maintenance of low voltage repairs on locomotive electrical systems
- Service locomotive cabs which include cleaning cab walls, locomotive toilets, windows and floors
- Operate equipment such as overhead or mobile cranes, forklifts and hand tools
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Preference given to those with a Journeymen diesel, Heavy-Duty, Industrial Electrician, Truck, Farm Implement Mechanics or related fields
- Automotive Technicians and Electricians will also be considered with apprenticeship credits offered for prior work experience
- Strong problem solving and computer skills
- Must be able to work within strict established safety and work guidelines / rules to complete job
- Will be required to have obtained all CPKC certification pertaining to specific tasks and assignments
- CPKC operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; must be able to work on various shifts and days off
