Piper Companies is searching for an experienced MRI Technologist to work as a full-time employee for one of the largest healthcare systems in the Raleigh, NC area.
The MRI Technologist will be responsible for operating MRI Scanners including scanners, post processing stations & programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport and patient monitoring equipment.
There are varying night shifts available.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide explanation & documentation of procedures
- Collect medical history by communicating with patients & reviewing in-patient, ER, and outpatients EMRs
- Administer IV contrast according to department protocols while providing patient care
- Complete MRI scanning with sterile techniques & practice radiation safety for self, coworkers, & patients
- Manage radiology computer system including entering orders and charging procedures / supplies
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to perform mid to heavy physical efforts in moving patients, equipment, and supplies
- Walking, standing, and sitting during working operations
- Ability to adhere to radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to radiation
Education and Experience
- 1+ years of experience as a MRI Technologist required
- Degree from two-year AMA program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or enrollment in ARMRIT or ARRT program
