Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Staff Accountant for a long time, stable, Reno based company.
The position has a variety of responsibilities as a part of the accounting staff, and reports to the Controller. Those responsibilities include :
Prepares various general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries as part of the monthly financial close process.
Performs daily and weekly bank deposits and records associated journal entries.
Prepares accounts receivable invoices as needed.
Processes weekly check batches.
Processes employee credit card transactions, compiles supporting documentation, and records associated journal entries.
Prepares wire payments for debt, payroll, and accounts payable functions.
Prepares cash flow documentation and projections.
Assists in the preparation for the annual financial statement audit.
To be considered for this role candidates should have a combination of education and experience, such as an AA in accounting and 3-5 years of experience or a BS Degree in accounting and 1-2 years of experience.
Candidates must know and have experience in debit and credit journal entries, and understand the concepts of accounting.
Strong technology skills, including intermediate Excel skills are important.

- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
- Experience in Bank Reconciliations
- Solid understanding of General Ledger
- Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries accurately
- Experience in assisting with Month End Close processes
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or AA Degree in Accounting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
