The PEAK Female Program operates within the PEAK Genetics team and is a renowned, internally-controlled breeding program that is designed to create and house the highest cattle genetic offspring from foundational dairy cow families.

As the PEAK Female Program Director, you will play a key role in creating industry-leading cattle genetics through the internal breeding program of PEAK Genetics.

This position requires expertise in advanced reproductive technologies, dairy genetics and experience with people and operations management.

You will be responsible for managing all program activities and leading a team of experts to execute the operations of the genetic program.

You are a performance-driven, proven leader with a passion for cattle genetics.

This position is an integral member of the PEAK team and will have a dynamic impact on the success of the PEAK genetic program.

Success in this position will come from ability to lead, inspire and collaborate across PEAK teams, URUS teams, PEAK partners and clients, and direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the breeding program, including selection, mating decisions and performance monitoring
  • Manage relationships and agreements with service suppliers for the PEAK Female Program
  • Proactively seek continuous improvement and innovation of work processes
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cattle genetics and reproduction and identify opportunities for incorporating new technologies and methodologies
  • Prepare and manage PEAK Female Program budget
  • Proactivly source / seek new business approaches, partners, clients, and opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in an Animal Science related discipline; Masters preferred
  • Passion for and in-depth knowledge of the cattle genetics and reproduction industry
  • 5+ years of managerial experience
  • Able to develop and execute a budget
  • Good understanding of industry trends and market demands in the field of cattle genetics and reproduction
  • A strong team player that can lead, energize, and motivate a team and delegate and empower teammates
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
