CareStaff Partners is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for contract assignments for the 2024 / 25 school year in Oregon!
School Psychologist Position Details :
- Start Date : August 2024
- Hours : Full-Time (40 hours per week)
- Contract Duration : Full School Year
- Pay Package : $56-61 per hour based on experience
School Psychologist Requirements :
- School psychologists often complete a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field, and a master's in school psychology or educational psychological development.
- School psychologists need a state license or, in the states that consider it the equivalent of licensure, Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) certification from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
Requirements vary by state. However, some states have or are considering license reciprocity.
Licensed school psychologists must complete 20-30 hours of continuing education in child psychology or education each year.
You can earn these hours through attending selected psychology classes, conferences, or webinars.
School Psychologist Responsibilities :
- Conduct psychological tests and evaluations
- Support each student's IEP by working with a multidisciplinary team
- Teach pro-social behaviors to students within the school environment
- Counsel students individually or in groups
- Develop intervention plans for teaching staff
- Meet with parents
- Facilities workshops and training for parents and teachers
- Acts as a liaison to the community
- Facilitates peer mediation sessions
- Offers grief or emergency couseling services
