Outside Machinist Handyperson

Summary :

• A handyperson must have a basic knowledge of the ship building industry and show a willingness to learn, strive, and continually improve in all aspects of his / her work. Capable of accomplishing the installation repair, and maintenance of ship's fluid systems which include pumps, compressors, purifiers, heat exchangers, actuators and valves with some Journeyman assistance and / or oversite. Capable of accomplishing the testing of equipment to ensure systems meet 4E specifications, references and drawings with some Journeyman assistance and / or oversite. Capable of accomplishing the installation and testing of various shop equipment. Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.

This position requires access to U.S. government or military sites. As such, candidates must be eligible to obtain base access clearance, which includes passing a background check and presenting valid government-issued identification.
