Under the direction of the Creative Director, the Associate Creative Director assists with creative direction to develop unique creative assets to engage the target audience while maintaining brand standards.
This position has an active role in leading the creative team to create visual and storytelling elements with a focus on brand awareness, student enrollment / retention and fundraising.
This role also is the lead designer on influential creative projects and manages the graphic designers on the creative team.
The Associate Creative Director leads in the execution of key department platforms and activities, such as the Template Hub, PhotoShelter and video / photo shoots.
Strong campus relationships are required to successfully lead these initiatives.
In alignment with the Creative Director’s guidance, the Associate Creative Director assists in leading the creative team’s implementation of UCOM priorities, strategies and outcomes.

- Creative direction - Develop strategy, ensure assets are on brand, align with strategy, and determine how to best leverage assets in future campaigns, etc.
Bring forth innovative concepts and ideas for various types of content including website, social media, print pieces, digital advertising, videos, etc.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, web and content strategists to ensure creative solutions meet project objectives Be intimately familiar with the consumers’ experience and provide insight into what makes a customer act
Design marketing campaigns and projects Designing marketing campaigns (non-paid); may also include actual design of key / high profile campaigns.
A player / coach able to lead by example with strong design acumen and aesthetic sensibilities.
Management responsibilities - Strong verbal communication skills to present ideas and persuade others. Collaborate closely with the creative team to provide both inspiration and constructive feedback.
Inspire a team of creative professionals, including graphic designers, videographers and photographers.
Oversee the Creighton Template Hub and PhotoShelter user experience
The Associate Creative Director must be well-versed in digital-first and print best practices to bring concepts in line with current platforms and media.
They must be able to provide constructive criticism and feedback on both writing and design. They will evaluate projects and help connect them to the larger university goals.
They must be highly proficient problem solvers that can help lead the creative team toward relevant yet novel solutions.

- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, advertising or marketing
- 10+ years delivering creative solutions for advertising and marketing strategies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Deep knowledge of production procedures, web design principles and computer software (Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Illustration, Photoshop, Microsoft, etc.)
- Experience using project management systems
- Ability to provide constructive feedback, conflict resolution and transparent communication.
- Well-developed communication skills including the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to department members and campus partners.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing and advertising principles with experience in working within brand guidelines in complex organizations.
- Self-motivated, organized and accountable. Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail.
Manage time to ensure projects are delivered on time
Strong understanding of brand awareness, student enrollment and fundraising.
