Production Operator III : Utility 2,2,3,3 rotation
Team D : 7p-7am (2 days on, 2 days off - 3 days on, 3 days off)
The Production Operator III is responsible forlearning one or two of the Production Operator I and II jobs for backup andcoverage during times of illness or vacation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)
Safety & Environmental Performance
Identify high-risk safety / productivity issues and help to remedy them.
Support full plant wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses.
Encourage employees to look for ways to improve safety and production processes.
Prevention and timely reporting of any environmental issues.
Adhere to GMP’s and other work procedures as to assure product quality and consistency to our customers.
Prevent injuries by encouraging employees to work safely
Work Requirements
Always maintain maximum vacuum
The FFA of the product cooked must be below the scheduled standard and monitored by tray
Constant monitoring of multiple systems within the Deodorization process
Monitor filtration system and change filter bags in numerous locations throughout shift
Check citric acid percentage when Unit auto refills
Check all pumps and lines physically to ensure that you are coming and going to the correct storage
Enter all oil movement information into the OIS system and Liveaboard
Monitoring all systems via computer for trays, and supporting systems
Frequently opening and closing valves, replacing filters, and checking quality
Properly labeling samples and delivering to the lab
Open and close valves for all systems; some manually
Prepare rail cars and storages with steam heat and nitrogen wands as needed
Check temperatures of Hydro tanks 3x per shift ensuring agitators are on and proper temps are maintained
Read pressures and flows / graphs, check samples, and update inventory via liveaboard
Monitor shell and distillate tanks to ensure they don’t run over
Take samples from the converters and run either melt points and or RI
Know the correct amount and type of catalyst to use for each product
Monitor the stg. tank levels
Monitor filtration system closely to produce clean, finished product
Add the correct amount of filler medium and take the quality and / or finished sample to the lab for testing
needed
Check pumps hourly to ensure that you are coming and going to the correct storage
Manually turn valves / switches on tanks and machines to start and stop oil flow on tanks inside and outside.
Monitor flow rates of oil and read charts and computer screens
Manage and operate main steam boilers, their water treatment, and data logging.
Manage and operate Hydrogen Gas Plant, its water treatment, and data logging.
Ensures the daily emptying of water from the "beer well" keep sump available for oil spills.
Frequent emptying of wastewater tank to effluent for proper treatment.
Make "rounds" in the facility for fire prevention and maintenance included is locking and unlocking of the main gate for security purposes.
Interact with other operators for safety and maintenance concerns
Log daily, various data on these above-mentioned processes and alerting supervisor(s) to any maintenance issues.
Provide first response in the event of spills, evacuations, or power outages.
Maintain 5s quality standards in control room and working floors
Multitasking several processes at once
Perform all tasks assigned to you by any member of Management or K2 Supervisory team.
Cost Control
Reduce the amount of rework by participating in employee involvement, process improvement and adherence to process guidelines
Ensure work is completed to customers specifications
Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste in your daily work
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to multitask
Ability to understand scale measurements
Ability to do simple mathematical calculations
Must be literate and able to speak and understand English
Previous manufacturing experience desired : 4 years
Working Conditions
The work will be conducted primarily indoors.Temperatures can range from 39 to 125 degrees. The area’s chemical hazards arelimited to anhydrous ammonia, the refrigerant used in the majority of ourprocess equipment.
There are many mechanical hazards in the area- these areprimarily in the form of conveyor and conveyor related equipment.
Steamcompressed air and oily surfaces can also be a concern.
Physical Requirements
The ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) with co-workers is necessary.Telephone and email use is required.
Hearing and vision within normal ranges is required.
Some heavy lifting is involved, 50lbs from a few inches up to 5 feet.
Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time is required.
Walking up flights of stairs is required, as some of the facility is only accessible this way.
